In this concentration, students investigate behavior and mental processes as they engage in a systematic study of individuals in relation to their societies. Students learn about organization, management, and how to create social environments in which individuals thrive. Psychology, sociology, and leadership are explored from the multi-disciplinary perspectives of social science, culture, art, film, and language. Students learn to identify, address and solve complex theoretical and practical issues within diverse contexts.

Beyond the classroom, you can also join student clubs like Model UN and Film Club, discuss current political issues with professors and local experts at an event like 鈥楶rofessors in the Pub鈥� or stop by one of our movie nights or poetry readings in the Library featuring professors and internationally published authors.

Complete a three-year bachelor’s degree in sociology, psychology, and leadership while earning qualifications recognized in both the United States and the Czech Republic. To graduate, students must accumulate 90 US credits (180 ECTS credits) by completing 30 courses including an internship and a thesis.

At AAU, each student receives individualized guidance and support in academic planning. Students are assigned an advisor within their school of study who helps them select courses, explore study abroad opportunities, understand transfer credits, and navigate graduation requirements. Working closely with an advisor helps students stay on track and move through their studies with confidence.

Having passed all the required and elective courses, students complete their studies by taking the graduation examination which includes a state exam covering the contents of the major module, a state exam covering the concentration module, and a thesis defense.

The Bachelor鈥檚 degree awarded is concurrently recognized as a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in the United States, per 础础鲍鈥檚 accreditation by the WASC Senior College and University Commission, and as a Bakal谩艡 (Bc.) in the Czech Republic, per 础础鲍鈥檚 accreditation by the National Accreditation Bureau for Higher Education (NABHE). Graduates may select whether to use the U.S. post-nominal or the Czech pre-nominal title.

This concentration is accredited by the Academic Council of Anglo-American University. Its completion will be indicated on the transcript and diploma supplement.
