Open to public!

On behalf of the curatorial studies students, working under the leadership of curator Karina Kottová, we’d like to invite you to our exhibition, Kale¿doscope. The opening will take place on May 14th from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Kobka 17, Smíchovská náplavka. This pop-up exhibition will continue to be open through May 15-16th from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

This group exhibition draws in the concept of “kaleidoscope” – an optical device that produces constantly shifting, symmetrical patterns when rotated. Like these patterns, the exhibition reflects themes that are in continual flux, fragmentation and reassembling with subtle shifts in perspective.

The exhibition is structured around four thematic sections: the mundanity if everyday life as a site self-discovery, self-expression in an increasingly technologized world, the tension between tradition and contemporary expression, and migration as a liminal condition marked by fractured belonging.

Through a range of media – including painting, installation, performance, video – the project brings these perspectives into dialogue, not to resolve them, but to foreground the instability and multiplicity inherent in contemporary experience.

We cannot wait to see you all there!
– the curatorial team
